Proxy Rotation Methods - FatProxy

Overview

FatProxy offers three proxy rotation methods to help you control how frequently your exit IP address (node) changes. The rotation method you choose depends on your needs for anonymity, session persistence, and IP management.

Available Rotation Methods

FatProxy allows you to choose from the following IP rotation options for your proxies, giving you full control over how your traffic is routed. - Each Request - Keep Session - Smart Static

🚀 For detailed information on how each method works, continue reading below

How Proxy Rotation Works?

1. Each Request

  • Description: With this method, the exit IP (node) will change every time you send a request.
  • How It Works: Every time your device sends a request (such as opening a webpage or making an API call), the proxy will automatically rotate the exit IP, providing maximum anonymity.
  • Use Case: Ideal for web scraping or crawling where you need to appear as a different user or source for each request.

2. Keep Session

  • Description: The exit IP (node) will rotate after a set period of time or if the node becomes unavailable.
  • How It Works: This method maintains the same exit IP for a predefined duration (e.g., 10 minutes, 30 minutes) and changes it once that time expires or if the node becomes unavailable due to network issues.
  • Use Case: Perfect for longer-term sessions, such as managing accounts, where you want to maintain a session but periodically change your IP for privacy.

3. Smart Static

  • Description: The exit IP (node) remains the same for an indefinite period as long as you use the proxy at least once within a 24-hour window and the exit node is still available.
  • How It Works: Your session remains active and uses the same exit IP for as long as you reconnect within 24 hours. If you don't use the proxy for 24 hours, the session expires and a new IP will be assigned. Effectively, this makes them static proxies with traffic-based billing, which is an exclusive feature on the market.
  • Use Case: Best for persistent long-term tasks, like managing social media accounts or maintaining a continuous connection without needing frequent IP changes.

Choosing the Right Rotation Method

  • Each Request: If your task involves high anonymity and you want each request to come from a different exit IP, such as in data scraping or automated browsing.
  • Keep Session: If you need a consistent session for a set period of time but still want the IP to rotate occasionally for better security (e.g., logging into accounts).
  • Smart Static: If you need to maintain the same IP for a longer period (e.g., managing accounts). With Smart Static, you essentially get static proxies with traffic-based billing, making this an exclusive option in the market.
